Here's where to watch fireworks celebrating Pioneer Day in Utah (2024)

SALT LAKE CITY — Get ready for some powerful pyrotechnics over the next week as cities across Utah celebrate statehood on Pioneer Day. The holiday commemorates the arrival of Latter-day Saint pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley in 1847, and celebrations often involve parades, games and fireworks.

Check out this list to find the firework show closest to you. (This list is not comprehensive and details are subject to change; please visit the attached links to verify).

Saturday, July 20

• American Fork: American Fork continues its annual tradition of Pioneer Day fireworks. The pyrotechnic display will wrap up the city's Steel Days festivities and will launch from Art Dye Park at 10 p.m. While the fireworks will be visible from all over the city, audience members at the park will have synchronized music to accompany the show.
• Bountiful: Bountiful boasts the second-largest Pioneer Day parade in the state, beginning at 9 a.m. Head to Mueller Park Junior High at 10 p.m. for a fireworks display.
• Mapleton: Come to Mapleton for dozens of activities, and stick around until nightfall for a synchronized fireworks display. Fireworks will launch from Ira Allan Sports Park following a live performance by the Salamanders.
• Mona: Mona has a day full of activities for Pioneer Day, including a talent show, watermelon eating contest and pioneer dancing. Fireworks will be at 10 p.m., with seating at the school and park.
• Monticello: It's a two-day pioneer celebration in Monticello, but fireworks won't light up the sky above the ballfields until dusk on Saturday.
• Tremonton: Tremonton has a packed few days leading up to an epic fireworks show. Come to the park to see the city light up the sky at 10 p.m.

Wednesday, July 24

• Beaver: Beaver is going all out for the state holiday, capping things off with fireworks at the Tushar 4-Plex at 9:45 p.m.
• Cedar City: Cedar City — and the Osmond family — are gearing up for an epic celebration at Southern Utah University's Eccles Coliseum. Doors open at 7 p.m. and there will be hours of musical entertainment until the fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.
• Charleston, Wasatch County: Where in Heber Valley can you find Pioneer Day celebrations? Head to the small town of Charleston, population 436. At Charleston Park, you can watch breathtaking fireworks at dusk.
• Hurricane, Washington County: Hurricane is taking the party to Sand Hollow State Park for an epic fireworks display. Enter the park starting at 4 p.m., listen to live music and visit food vendors. Fireworks will kick off at dusk.
• Kanab: Get ready for fireworks on the water at Jackson Flat Reservoir. The party starts at 4 p.m., but pyrotechnics won't come until dusk.
• Layton: No fireworks in Layton, but there is a full day of activities and an electric light parade. The parade will begin at Constitution Circle at 10:30 p.m. and will include a DJ, dancing, black lights and food.
• Logan: There's a packed schedule for Logan's Pioneer Day, and fireworks will top it off at Willow Park at 10 p.m.
• North Logan: All the action will be at Elk Ridge Park. The fun kicks off at 7 a.m. with a 5K run and breakfast, and activities will continue to the evening. Stick around until 5:30 p.m. for a charity barbecue dinner, a screening of "Super Mario Bros." and fireworks at 10 p.m.
• Ogden: Ogden is celebrating the state's early settlers with its annual Pioneer Days rodeo. Gates open at Ogden Pioneer Stadium at 5:30 p.m., and a drone show will end the night. Can't make it to the Pioneer Day show? Don't worry — there will be a rodeo and drone show every night July 19-24.
• Orem: Fireworks are back at University Place Mall. Attendees can start reserving spots with chairs and blankets at 4 p.m., and live entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. The big fireworks show kicks off at 9:30 p.m.
• Provo: Provo is celebrating Pioneer Day with an Olympics announcement celebration at Peaks Ice Arena. Come for free ice skating beginning at 6 p.m., enjoy a DJ and other activities and watch fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
• Salt Lake City: No one goes bigger than Salt Lake City on Pioneer Day. The Days of '47 Parade starts at 9 a.m., and activities will continue the rest of the day at Liberty Park. The city will wrap up the festivities with a drone show at the park at 10 p.m.
• Spanish Fork: Enjoy fireworks launched from the sports park at approximately 10 p.m. Synchronized music will be played at Field Eight.
• Washington, Washington County: There will be a full day of activities in Washington, followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. at Veterans Park.

Saturday, July 27

• Fairview, Sanpete County: Fireworks will be at Keller Arena at 10 p.m. immediately following the demolition derby.
• Kamas: Fiesta Days in Kamas brings a weekend of fun, and fireworks will light after the city's Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association rodeo, which takes place at 7:30 p.m. A Chris Peterson concert will also take place after the rodeo.
